“There is a sense of humor or pathos, a grip on grief and sorrow, in Kathryn’s writing. Her work addresses spirituality, doubts, as well as her convictions.
This is a voice deep in tone, color, rhythm.”

– Jacinta Camacho Kaplan, MFA, PhD

About Kathryn

My name is Kathryn MacDonell. I am passionate about words, and embrace arts of all forms to heal, transform, and connect us.

My decades-long career was invested in caring for vulnerable populations in schools, prisons, shelters, and hospitals.

Writing is my constant to find meaning as I investigate lifestyles, health, travel, and relationships.

Current work focuses on authentic stories echoing our complex human journey.

I have travelled to 30 countries and am hungry for more experiences.

“Kathryn is a writer of poetic sensibilities and deep thought. She tackles subjects reflecting her generation’s concerns. Her thoughtful exploration might make sense of the world.
